A Random Kind of Post...

So.... once again. I really don't have too many exciting things to post about, so this will be kind of a hodgepodge kind of post.  More importantly, there are pictures of softball and a surprise from my visit to Huntsville:).

First off, softball.  Let's just say that Controlled Chaos will not be attending the world series anytime soon.  It was an unexpected, bitterly cold night and we lost both games.  It was not for lack of effort, just simply wasn't our night.  I can say that I made it on base every "at bat" I had... even if I didn't swing:).  Here are a few pictures of our softball experience:

Getting ready to bat!!

At bat... kinda:)

ps-- this was the only jacket I had in my car:(

Last but not least.....

My magic shoes:)

On Friday I headed to Huntsville to help my mom throw a wedding shower for a friend and to do my taxes (fun, fun).  It was a quick trip, filled with gallons of rain and cold weather.  I was able to get my taxes done, find an Easter dress, spend time with family and see my most favorite-ist friend in the world....

ABBY!!!

I already miss her (and mom and dad) and have zero doubt in my mind that she is grieving not having me to cuddle with.  Abby has been my BFF since 9th grade and now officially qualifies for Medicare.  It will be a sad day when she takes her eternal nap, but she has been the best cat a girl could ask for:)

Hopefully, this cold weather decides to leave for good and we can enjoy Spring again.  Hope everyone has a great last week of March!!

Spring Break?!?

So, Spring Break has come and gone.... oh wait!!  I am in the real world now!  No Spring Break for me:(  While I did not get a break, I definitely am feeling SPRING!!  I am absolutely loving the weather, just warm enough, but not too hot.  Hopefully it will stay like this for a few weeks!

Sad to report that I do not have much of an update in Brown world.  We are just working, eating and sleeping and doing it all again the next day.  Tomorrow night does start our Spring softball season, so stay tuned for pics.  You are reading the words of the teams' most valuable designated hitter:). If you are interested in my autograph, feel free to shoot me an email and I'll get one right to you.  Seriously, I am NO softball player, like not at all.  I hit my first ball just a mere 3 weeks ago.  But the fun we have is worth the humiliation on the field, plus I love my PINK cleats:)

Hope everyone is enjoying whatever sort of "Spring Break" you have and soaking up all of this Vitamin D!!

Hope

Despite the daily stresses and ridiculous in's and out's of my job, I love what I do and I can only hope that I am doing everything in my power to make a difference.  Today, I would describe as a successful defeat.  I, along with my staff, stood up for someone who had no one.  We laid it all on the line and pulled out ALL the stops, simply to be defeated.  Would I do it again tomorrow, knowing and expecting the EXACT same outcome?  Absolutely.

I will say that there is a part of me that is not satisfied.  Not satisfied that I am in my clean house, with food to eat and surrounded by a support system who loves and cares for me.  If I could only say the same for the individuals that I work with on a day to day basis, life would be a little bit lot easier!  I would be perfectly content not having a job in the field I am in, simply because it means that there is no longer a need.  Until then... I will continue to persevere, push through, fervently pray, agonize and simply HOPE that tomorrow will be a better day.

PS... Feel free to throw up a prayer or 6.  Trust me, they will not go un-used.

The Suse!!

That's right, this part 2 of 2 is all about the one and only SUSAN.   I got the amazing privilege to actually be in the room when Susan made her grand entrance into the world.  I almost missed delivery by a traffic light, so I am lucky that I made it in time.  Ever since that day in July, Susan has kept us laughing, made us many "cups of tea" and has reigned as the Princess of the Latimer clan.  Susan got to serve as our flower girl, making it down the aisle, only to fall asleep:).

Here are some pictures of the Suse for you to enjoy!!

Almost Mine...

This is a part 1 or 2 posts, so stay tuned!!

Since Stuart and I have no children right now, I gladly claim my niece and nephew as my own [not sure if John & Sarah want me to claim them:)]!  Today, my post is for JOSIAH!!

Josiah was the first grandchild, not to mention my first nephew, born on June 17, 2005.  It was such a special day, since not only did he come right on time, but it is "Granddaddy's" birthday too!!  I got to visit the new addition a few weeks after he entered the world and it was such a fun time!!  He was a good little baby and I loved getting him to sleep by rubbing his nose:).  Now that little baby is a big boy and will be the big 6 this June!!  It's hard to believe he is so grown!!  Josiah was a tremendous help at the wedding serving as our "ring bear" and did a marvelous job!  He is definitely his father's child, enjoying video games, legos, star wars and such.  Here are a few pics of me and Stuart with our most favorite Josiah ever!!
