Sorry Santa....

This is what Dear Ole Santa received when he entered the Brown house on Christmas Eve.  Yes, Santa got 2 Slim Jims, fruit snacks, some Andes Candies and a Capri Sun.  I had wonderful intentions of baking Santa some wonderful homemade cookies, but simply didn't feel up to it on my day off.  Hopefully, he won't hold it against me and still come back to visit us next year;)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and has a blessed New Year!!

So Sorry!!

So, I am sure that you are saying, "she just started a blog and has already forgotten about it...." but that is not the case.  I have just been sooooooo busy with everything going on that I have let it fall to the wayside:(

Some of you (all 3 that read) have mentioned about wedding pictures, so here you go!!  These are just a few of the 1,000+ that I have!  I still love looking through them and thinking about that day!!  So many memories!!

Merry Christmas!!

Oh Christmas Tree!!

Since we have had such a hectic weekend schedule, we decided to put up our Christmas tree up a couple of weekends ago.  At first, I thought that I would get sick of it before December even arrived, but much to my surprise, I am still enjoying it, just like the first day we pulled it out of the box (yes, it is artificial).  Pretty much my whole life, I have always enjoyed an artificial tree due to allergies, messiness, pets, etc. and quite simply, I feel that it is easier.  We pulled it out, plugged it up and were ready to decorate!

I guess it is a sign that I am getting older, but I see more symbolism in the tree these days.  I find it more inspiring to look at our ornaments and think of the story behind them.  Since it is our first year together, we do not have an over abundance of ornaments, but I still think our tree is beautiful.  Some our ornaments are from my childhood days, some from Stuart's, some just plain "filler" balls, and some we have added to our collection since we have been together!  Here are a few of my favorites:

This is an ornament that looks EXACTLY like my engagement ring!  Stuart's mom gave this to me last Christmas and I absolutely love it!  It is the perfect reminder of one of my favorite days in my life!!

This is an ornament that I made as a child.  I have no idea when, nor do I know why I love it so much.  It is so simple, yet I have always loved this ornament and was always the first one that I ever put on the tree.
This is just one of many ornaments that we have on our tree that were made by Stuart's Grandma Miller.  I never got to meet her, but judging by the stories that I have heard, she was a special lady.  I love having these ornaments on the tree to have a piece of her here to celebrate Christmas with us!

And here is the whole thing.  While it may not be the perfect tree, it is our tree and it is filled with many memories and stories all shared by each ornament.  I look forward to adding many, many more memories to our tree each year!

These are a few of our favorite things...

We are very much in the holiday spirit in our house!!  Due to our insane schedule, we have had our christmas tree up for 2 weeks, evergreen and balsam scented candles throughout the house and our stockings are hung on our china cabinet with care:)

During the holiday season, it makes me think of all of my "favorite things," whether it be actual things or maybe just a ritual.  So here we go... a list of a few of my (and Stuart's) favorite things:

Balsam & Cedar Candles-- they just smell like Christmas!!
Christmas Lights- the tackier the better!!
Hot Chocolate- While it hasn't been that cold yet, there is nothing like a cup of hot chocolate with LOTS of marshmallows!!

Holiday Shopping- While I despise crowds, I LOVE sales!!

    AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...

    AUBURN!!

There is no better way to celebrate the holidays than to cheer the tigers on at the SEC Championship!!

    WAR EAGLE!!!
I hope that everyone gets to enjoy their favorite things during this holiday season!!
