A Boring Blogger...

I must apologize in advance for the lack of enthusiasm and excitement in this blog post.  Not only does it only contain boring information, it also has ZERO pictures for your viewing pleasure.  I promise readers (all 5 of you) that I will return with blog wonderful-ness as soon as I can!!

Basically for my own documentation, here is what has been going on around the Brown house:)  Stuart started his "big boy job" (yahoo!!) last week.  Good thing since he got a "big boy truck."  (next post, I promise:))  He spent the week reviewing policies and procedures, receiving his case load and schedule and creating his classroom website!  It makes the "real world" seem a little more realistic now that he is actually knee deep in working.  I am sure that it will be super realistic once he gets that first pay check!!  Students start on Wednesday, so I am sure that he is excited to actually begin his first year of teaching!  He is currently enjoying one last summer trip, fishing with friends in Florida. 

Not much in my world.  We had a power outage this morning which prevented me from completing my domestic duties... darn.  One of my best friends did welcome a precious new baby, Jack, into the world.  He will be one week old tomorrow and I absolutely can't wait to pay him (and his mom) a visit next Saturday!!  Summer is definitely winding down and it should be a very busy next couple of weeks at work.  I also must mention that I am MORE THAN EXCITED to welcome my therapist at work back from her maternity leave!!  It has been a LONG summer without her!  I am crossing my fingers that she has a smooth transition back into the swing of things as she leaves her precious bundle of joy:)  I am sure with my work craziness and Stuart's school year kicking up, we are in for a hectic few days!!  And once again, I promise to thrill you with a way more exciting post next time.  Until then, check ya later, summer!!

So much to do...

Sorry for the lack of blogging, there is just so much to do with so little time.  This past week was no exception!!  After our celebration of our first year of marriage, our schedule kicked into high gear and didn't slow down... until today:)  Here is a bit of pictures and commentary to document the past week!!

After celebrating our anniversary, we both had a full week at work, Prom at ASCCA, I had a baby shower to go to in Birmingham and Stuart left for Mississippi for the fair!  (I am going to attempt to get him to blog about his 1st fair experience!!)  Lucky for him, he is off this week, but we will be leaving again to head to Huntsville next weekend to visit my parents!  We will make it back just in time for SJB to start his big boy job next week!!  Yahoo!!

"Marry your best friend..."

A year ago today, I became a member of the "Mrs." club and what a great time it has been!  Over the past 12 months, we sure have seen a lot.  Some of our adventures have included:  Broken A/C, kidney stone, staph infection, 2 weird eye infections, no heat, an AUsome National Championship, a broken/gimpy toe, squeaky dryer that turned into a flooded washer, a bullet in the garbage disposal, 3 beach trips, an internship, freshman biology, graduation and a big boy job.  Wow.  What a year!

I guess that this no longer means that we are "newlyweds." We have graduated into the grown-up world.  It does seem kind of sad that I can no longer tag my posts in "First Year of Fun," but at least we have the memories!  As we go into many more years of marriage, I can only hope they are as fun and exciting as the past 12 months have been.  And at least I can say that I married my best friend!!

HAS A BIG KID JOB!!!  A huge YAHOO to my favorite Stuart in the whole world!! 

You can start calling him Mr. Brown:)  He is the newest special education teacher in Phenix City and will be teaching 9th grade math and co-teaching biology!!  I am so proud of him and know he will be a great teacher for all his students!!

A Last Taste of Summer

I am sad to say that I have enjoyed my last "summer vacation" of 2011:(.  Stuart and I enjoyed a quick beach trip with some friends, to soak up the sun and catch some fish....kind of.  We headed down to Florida, crab trap in tow, with our minds set of returning with a cooler full of fresh fish.  Apparently, the fish got the memo that we were on vacation, so they hit the hideaways.  Only 3 fisher(wo)men got to go, and their lack of fish was not due to lack of effort.  They returned after a long, hot day with 2 pretty large king mackerels.  It was sad to not have more fish in the cooler, but once the fish were all cleaned and cut, it was plenty for all to share!!  Here are just a few pictures documenting the weekend.

We definitely enjoyed the beach while we were there, despite being served by the ocean:)  It was HOT, HOT, HOT, so the ocean was welcomed!!  It is sad to think that my summer's end is quickly approaching, but it was fun to have one last weekend of fun and friends!!

Such a slacker....

Yes, I am fully aware that today is July 12.  Life has not stopped long enough for me to post, so I thought, "better late than never!"  So... with that being said, "HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!"  I hope that everyone was able to enjoy their independence day, celebrating the freedoms and luxuries that we often take for granted.
