Peanut, Peanut Butter...

COOKIES!!

Yum, Yum, these are good.  Try this simple recipe and soon you will enjoy heaven in your mouth. 

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

In a large mixing bowl beat butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and baking powder. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour. If necessary, cover and chill dough about 1 hour or until easy to handle.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in additional granulated sugar to coat. Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Using the tines of a fork, flatten balls by making crisscross marks on top. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until bottoms are light brown. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool. Makes about 36 cookies.

**I decided to make them extra yummy by adding some chocolate "drizzle."  Only decorated some of them since there are weirdos that live with me that don't like chocolate:)

A War Eagle Weekend!!

Not much to report in Brown world... but I guess that is a good thing.  We had our second football game this past weekend, vs. Mississippi State.  As usual, it was heart attack worthy, but the tigers were able to pull through for the W.  The game was filled with an eagle flying into a window, a heartfelt 9/11 tribute (complete with a moving version of "Taps"), horrible referees and even worse calls.  It was an 11:21 kickoff, which is absolutely no fun in tailgating world, but we all put together a breakfast tailgate, fit for a king!! 

The next couple of weeks will be no short of busy, as I am teaching 5 out of 10 work days, have in service 2 days and completing all the "office" work that is needed in between.  Also, our softball season kicks up this Thursday night!  I am sad to announce that Controlled Chaos' MVP, yours truly, will not be making an appearance this season (unless we are in a bad, bad way).  I heard that the bench needed a friend, so I stepped up to the challenge.  Plus, it allows me to document our teams' amazing skills via pictures:)

A LOOOONNNNGG SEASON!!

Stuart and I definitely lucked up and scored season tickets for the most amazing season ever!!  (Insert laugh here).  Despite Auburn's challenges, including a rough schedule, I am so happy that we can be there to support the Tigers!!  I think SJB and I are both going into it with low expectations, therefore we won't be setting ourselves up for any major disappointments.  Through it all, I am sure we will still enjoy the games, make some new friends and experience Auburn football together!!  (We had NEVER been to a game together!)

Peace out, Quasi!!

For a few months now, I have felt as if I had a HUGE tension knot on my back and have constantly nagged SJB to massage it.  After much consideration, I finally went to the Dr. about it, only to discover that it is not a tension knot, it is a lipoma.  It is most definitely obvious, as it stands off of my back, right below my scapula.  I met with a surgeon last week who determined that it needed to go!  So in the morning (very, very morning) I will go to the hospital and let a perfect stranger make about a 3 inch incision on my back and remove my annoying little friend.  Knowing that there is no chance that it will go away on it's own and most likely will only get bigger (especially since it has doubled in size since 1st noticed), it must be done.  So until next time...

Yummy Yum-Yum!!

Here is a tasty little dinner that STUART whipped right up!!  Perfect treat for me after a long day's work. 

1.  Grab a pack of Zattaran's Etouffee mix & follow directions to create sauce.



2.  Add crawfish & let simmer.

3.  While etouffee is simmering, cook rice. 

4.  Plate and enjoy!!

**Despite the fact that it looks somewhat like baby poop, it tastes phenomenal!!

In case you can't tell, our family has a new addition!  Now parked next to Heidi the Honda, is a new Ford F-150 truck, yet to be named.  Now along with Stuart's big boy job, he has a big boy truck... and all that comes with it:)  I must say that it is mighty nice, despite the fact that I will probably never get to drive it!!  Hopefully this nice new, flex fuel truck will make those trips to the big boy job at the crack of dawn just a little bit more enjoyable!! 

A Boring Blogger...

I must apologize in advance for the lack of enthusiasm and excitement in this blog post.  Not only does it only contain boring information, it also has ZERO pictures for your viewing pleasure.  I promise readers (all 5 of you) that I will return with blog wonderful-ness as soon as I can!!

Basically for my own documentation, here is what has been going on around the Brown house:)  Stuart started his "big boy job" (yahoo!!) last week.  Good thing since he got a "big boy truck."  (next post, I promise:))  He spent the week reviewing policies and procedures, receiving his case load and schedule and creating his classroom website!  It makes the "real world" seem a little more realistic now that he is actually knee deep in working.  I am sure that it will be super realistic once he gets that first pay check!!  Students start on Wednesday, so I am sure that he is excited to actually begin his first year of teaching!  He is currently enjoying one last summer trip, fishing with friends in Florida. 

Not much in my world.  We had a power outage this morning which prevented me from completing my domestic duties... darn.  One of my best friends did welcome a precious new baby, Jack, into the world.  He will be one week old tomorrow and I absolutely can't wait to pay him (and his mom) a visit next Saturday!!  Summer is definitely winding down and it should be a very busy next couple of weeks at work.  I also must mention that I am MORE THAN EXCITED to welcome my therapist at work back from her maternity leave!!  It has been a LONG summer without her!  I am crossing my fingers that she has a smooth transition back into the swing of things as she leaves her precious bundle of joy:)  I am sure with my work craziness and Stuart's school year kicking up, we are in for a hectic few days!!  And once again, I promise to thrill you with a way more exciting post next time.  Until then, check ya later, summer!!
